Just like with every previous OnePlus launch, the company has been teasing the smartphone’s features ahead of the release. The design language of the OnePlus 10T 5G looks very similar look to the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro launched earlier this year, but with some slight changes. The smartphone will get a huge camera bump at the back and it will be available in two color options: Moonstone Black and Jade Green.

According to OnePlus Chief Designer Hope Liu, the alert slider that was used to put the phone on silent or vibration mode, has been ditched for a reason. The alert slider has been removed to make enough internal space for “high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and better antenna signal” components on the upcoming flagship. For example, Liu told The Verge that the 80W fast charging-compatible OnePlus 10 Pro requires just one “charging pump” but the company needs to put two “charging pumps” inside the OnePlus 10T 5G to achieve higher charging speeds. While it is unclear how fast the charging will be, there is an indication that OnePlus 10R’s 150W fast charging could be made available on the OnePlus 10T 5G. “While the alert slider appears to be a very small component, it actually has a relatively large impact on the device’s motherboard area — taking up 30 mm²,” Liu told The Verge in an email. “To ensure the OnePlus 10T delivers in the areas we know our users value most… while retaining the alert slider, we would have had to stack the device’s motherboard, which would have made the device thicker.” The company has also prioritized an antenna system that includes 15 separate antennas inside the OnePlus 10T 5G to improve signal when holding the smartphone horizontally — an advantage when playing games online. Besides the alert slider, the Hasselblad branding on the camera module, which has been seen on the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and the 10 Pro, will now not be seen on the OnePlus 10T 5G. Talking about the absence of a Hasselblad camera, Liu reiterated the company’s earlier blog post detailing the camera features of the upcoming OnePlus 10T 5G. The company has decided not to put Hasselblad branding on the camera, as it wants to offer an ultimate performance flagship smartphone experience at the device’s price at a certain level. However, the smartphone still packs “excellent photography hardware” that’s supported by its incredible suite of computational photography features. The OnePlus 10T comes with a triple camera system on its rear that’s headed by the flagship 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with a large 1/1.56 inch sensor size combined with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) support. Further, the upcoming OnePlus flagship will offer an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119.9° field of view and a 2MP macro camera that allows you to zoom out and zoom in, respectively. Also, the OnePlus 10T 5G will come with a new Image Clarity Engine (ICE) that enables the device to capture photos faster and with greater levels of detail. Additionally, the smartphone supports HDR 5.0 and TurboRAW algorithms for improved HDR performance, enhanced Nightscape mode, 10-bit colors, Smart Link, a 360-degree Antenna System for interruption-free gaming, and more.
