In a statement given to CNBC Apple said “We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We’re working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience.” Due to the outage issue customers were not having access to App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, Mac App Store and hence no purchases could be made. As per a recent report from Apple it seems iTunes services generated about $2.6 billion in their first quarter for 2015, having said that it would make sense if Apple says it has incurred a loss of around £17.6m due to the outages. The recent Apple iPhone 5 battery issues (which they have ensured to replace) and now a major outage…….wonder if users will have the same trust on Apple any more!
